Helping you stay healthy during COVID-19

While there’s no cure or vaccine available for COVID-19, you can protect yourself and your family by following some important steps.

Follow the CDC guidelines

To begin with, we recommend following the health guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding COVID-19. These include:

Eat a nutritious diet with the right supplements

The best way to optimize your health is to eat right. That means eating both the right food and supplements to boost your immune system.

For supplements, we strongly recommend the following to strengthen your immune system and give you the best fighting chance against COVID-19:

Please note — these recommended supplements and their dosages are for adults. Consult the pediatric specialists at Monarque Health & Wellness to find out what supplements your child should be taking. Before adding any supplements to your diet, always check with your doctor first.

When it comes to food, go natural over-processed, making sure to include nutrient-rich vegetables, fruit, and grains in your diet. During a virtual visit, we can help to develop a personalized nutrition plan for you based on your current health condition, lifestyle, dietary needs, and health goals.

Make sure you’re getting enough sleep

You could be eating all the right foods, but you won’t reap the full benefits if you don’t get enough sleep. If you’re having a hard time getting a full night’s sleep, try these tips:

It’s a stressful time right now, and we know you have a lot on your mind. This makes it hard to prepare yourself (mentally and physically) for a good night’s rest. That’s where the next tip — practicing stress-reduction techniques — comes in useful.

Learn stress-reduction techniques

Stress-reduction techniques are designed to calm your stressed and anxious mind and bring you to focus on the present.

Our providers can also give you an in-depth framework to learn and practice stress-reduction techniques. As part of our emphasis on functional medicine, we aim to treat the mind, body, and spirit together. We believe these are interlinked and all play a role in your overall health and wellness.

What happens during a virtual visit

Virtual visits with Monarque Health & Wellness happen on Zoom. Before your visit, we ask that you sign in to your Athena patient portal to update your medical history, list of medications, and some additional information. If you’re able to, we also ask that you take your weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature so you can relay this to the provider that sees you.

Find a quiet, private place where you won’t be interrupted, preferably with a strong Wi-Fi connection. Once you’re ready to get started, open Zoom and join the meeting (using the meeting code we provide you via email) about 10 minutes in advance. You enter a virtual waiting room, and then go into your visit once our provider is ready to see you.
